  • Dissertation Abstract: The application and evolution of Walter Murch's fourth rule, Eye Trace, and film editing techniques by Black filmmakers will be addressed. Constant Comparative Analysis will use content analysis to find and evaluate text themes, patterns, and messages to examine how media immerses people in narratives—analysis of Murch's Eye Trace principles in Black Cinema and Oscar-winning films. Film editing evaluation and qualitative approach are explained in the study. Continuous comparison of film production's artistic and technical components benefits cinema studies and other media-influenced areas. Qualitative and continuous comparison studies can explain media's societal impact. This study stresses the importance of multi-method media evaluation.
